EENA, the European Emergency Number Association
EENA, the European Emergency Number Association, has been set up in 1999 as a non-profit association registered in Belgium to serve as a neutral discussion platform for emergency services, industry and informed citizens with the aim of getting efficient, interoperable and harmonised emergency telecommunications in accordance with citizens' requirements. EENA has been advocating to authorities the issues related to the 112 as there are more and more EU citizens travelling for business or leisure. EENA is also promoting the establishment of a general, pan-European, multilingual, simplified and efficient system for alerting citizens about imminent or developing emergencies.
EENA Advisory Board
EENA Advisory Board is gathering the main emergency telecommunications stakeholders who include politicians, professional users associations, international organisations and associations as well as solution providers. The main goal of this body is to contribute to efficient, interoperable and harmonised emergency telecommunications in accordance with citizens' requirements.
The 112 Emergency Services Staff Network
The 112 ESSN is the first European platform that gathers all emergency staff involved with the European emergency number 112. It was established by EENA as a respond for growing need of sharing ideas, information, initiatives and experience by all emergency staff involved directly or indirectly with the 112 (first responders, managers, call takers, operators, paramedics, ambulance-staff, fire-fighters, coastguards, search and rescue organisations, etc...).
Special thanks to the 112 Murcia and the Finnish Emergency Services College for granting us the permission to use the pictures in the banner of the 112 Foundation.
